Todo Cloud App Reviews

Nope.

This is a visual refresh nothing more. This is the original (clunky) app with lipstick. No new (sorely needed) keyboard shortcuts, no new functionality. It’s a very mouse-y app. And if that’s your sort of thing, go get it. But my goal is productivity and the fact that I can’t tab through to anything and I have to reach for my mouse to do ANYTHING means I’m not in a flow. They should’ve scrapped this app and started from scratch, because their iOS app is brilliant.

buggy

Please fix the bugs ASAP! Sometimes all my tasks disappear and I have to quit the app and restart it and the tasks will return. But then the problem occurs again shortly afterward. Other than that, the app works smoothly!

ToDo is my power tool for running all aspects of my life!

I have been using ToDo for years, and it just keeps getting better and more capable over time. I am delighted that the Mac version is now updated to match the iOS version, which I use very frequently throughout the day (since it’s in my pocket). Syncing with the Mac just makes it that much easier to keep track of whats on my active task list or quickly adding tasks or reminders while I’m using the Mac. I have taught time management, and used a variety of time management systems, and this is a real gem! I have no problem recommending this to friends, family, and colleagues to take advantage of the task-sharing capabilities, since it is so economical compared to other high-power solutions (especially for multiple devices).

The best

Simply the best. Easy to use with all the features I need.

Very Buggy

I really wish I could give 5 stars on this (I would on the mobile apps), but this app is not ready. I’ve been a Todo user for a number of years. Generally, my devices have synced seamlessly. However, the Todo Cloud application on my Mac is not syncing properly. Not only is it not syncing all the tasks, it has some tasks listed up to 5 times. I feel I cannot trust this application yet. In the meantime, to access my tasks on a desktop or laptop, I continue to login to the website, which works great.

Much Better

I really liked the updated look of the iOS apps. The Mac app was not nice to look at, but I used it to keep my tasks in sync everywhere. The updated desktop app came as a very pleasant surprise. I love the look and feel! It goes perfectly with the iOS apps and is user friendly having been translated for desktop use. The only change I would make is for the “add task” window go away after a task is added. I don’t like having to close that window after putting in a new task. I’d rather have to hit the “+” sign again and have the screen real estate back automatically. Still, it’s a great app!

The Best ToDo App There Is

This FAR outshines any other ToDo app available for the Mac. Yes, there is OmniFocus but, unless you want to wait 5 mins per sync AND not have a sync as soon as you change AND have to use something that’s complicated for no good reason, than Appigo’s ToDo is the way to go. Best of all, the interface is the same on the Mac, iPhone and iPad. (As an FYI: OmniFocus is different on the iPad, different on the iPhone, and different on the 2.0v of the Mac. Seriously??) This i THE app to get. I use it on both iOS devices and my mac. Also, you can access your to-dos on the web portal.

Please add the following for 5 star

Add the next week iOS quick task to the right click Bring back toolbar buttons and customizable toolbar ability. Was alot nicer and more efficient being able to easily star, complete, and / or prioritze mutiple task at a time from the toolbar instead of now having to remember command shortcuts. Would also add to that same custom toolbar a no date, today, tomorrow, next 2 days, and next week quick buttons if possible. Other than that looking good.

Todo Cloud keeps me organized

I just had a quick response from Appigo on a trouble ticket, and I thought, “I should write a review.” I live by my task list. Without it, I couldn’t keep an empty inbox and I would have much more stress in my life, so I’ve tried a lot of task managers. Todo Cloud is the best I’ve found. I think keeping an empty inbox is so important, because if you don’t then you are constantly scanning and rescanning every email wondering what you have forgotten to handle. I can’t live that way, so I try to only look at emails one time. I read and delete, read and archive, read and forward, or I put them on my task list to handle later and then I archive them. I use Todo Cloud on my iPhone, my iPad, my iMac and my Mac Book Air, so wherever I am I know what I need to be doing and I can put new things on the list as I think about them, so I don’t have to keep reminding myself of what is important. Key to all of this is being able to forward emails to Todo Cloud and have them automatically put onto my task list. I can even set the date or priority (and more) when I forward the email. And it works with Siri, so if I can just say “Remind me to write a review for Appigo tomorrow” and it ends up on my task list. If I were ever away from one of my devices, I could check my task list using the web client as well. I recently started using the Focus List, so that it only shows tasks due today and tomorrow. If it isn’t due right now, I don’t want to wast energy on it, so that’s a great feature. I also just discovered that even though the tasks sort automatically, I can override that (on the Mac anyway) by dragging the tasks around to the order I want to work on them. That makes it perfect for me. The apps, and the subscription are well worth it for the productivity it gives me.

Not quite there

This is a decent app, and does the basics. In order to become a 5-star app, however, there needs to be a way to subscribe to todo cloud using Calendar or BusyCal. Other services such as Toodledo allow for this, so it shouldn’t be that difficult. When that upgrade happens, I’ll give it 5 stars.

Great App, But Crashes

I like the app, but I can share projects without the app crashing. Overdue for an update, too.

Love this App but it doesn’t work properly

I love this App, however it crashes all the time on Mac. On IOS location based alerts simply don’t work. I enabled it on Privacy Settings and it resets again automatically. Also I can’t choose a radio around the place I want to be to get the alert as original IOS 8 app will do, so I don’t have any info about the distance the alert is triggered.

Has potential but misses the mark - crashes constantly

This app has all the makings of a wonderful todo app - it has cross-platform compatibility, syncing, all the features one might need. The problem is it crashes daily during a variety of different tasks. I’ve been in communication with the developers about this and other bugs for weeks, with no update in sight. I paid for a premium membership for the year, but I would honestly rather shell out $30 or $40 and get a real application that functions as it should. I’ll check back occasionally for updates to see if it improves, but otherwise, I’m switching to another app for my task lists.

For the price, very lacking

After a couple of years, this will likely be the most expensive todo application you have ever used. My low rating is primarily based on what you get for the cost. The app itself is pretty nice but it is not very standout compared to all the competition. I really appreciate that it has start date (a rare feature) and the ability to manually reorder tasks. However, you’re paying a hefty sum for a service, not just an app. As a service, Todo Cloud is lacking. The syncing is solid (important) but their development is crazy slow, especially compared to lots of free competition. Cross platform support is limited (No Windows app! Seriously?). Their customer support is not good. Support inquiries get responses that seem like they don’t know their own product and their online customer feedback (voting) system shows extremely sparse response to customer feedback. For the money, there should be a lot more development with lots of optional features across all platforms with rock solid customer support and customer relations.

Still buggy

We’ve used multiple prior versions of ToDo, have upgraded loyally through each upgrade, and pay for two separate shared accounts. Integration with a native Mac app is nice but the sync still does not universally carry across all devices, occasionally requiring a reset from the cloud with subsequent loss of recently entered tasks. This version also has an annoying recurrent loud alarm that sounds when any task is updated on the Mac. None of the controls in Preferences allow this to be modified or turned off. I contacted Tech Support, they reproduced and acknowledged the problem, but it’s been weeks and no update has been pushed out to address the issue. Thus, anytime we open the app on our Macs, we must endure constant unwanted loud alarms unless we mute all other sounds. Since we are dependent on the app and this is more of an annoyance than a functional issue, we continue to use ToDo.

TRULY OUTSTANDING !!!

Im and elected official and business owner. Ive been searching for something that could keep the various details (that tend to overwhelm my life) of following up with people, doing the things I need to do and staying on track. Ive purchased (wasted money) on all sorts of apps looking for the answer. Of all the things Ive tried TODO simply does this…and does it well. The most technically challenged could set it up in their sleep and it syncs effortlessly across various platforms. I carry several devices around with me (three ipads, two iphones and a Mac). TODO works with all of them without a secret handshake. You simply put in an entry, park it into the future (put a date by when you want it to prompt you) and TODO does the rest. You can put in just about anything from things you need to accomplish that day to a laundry list of items to get at the store, to following up with an individual at a later date. TODO makes sense of it all, has all your devices singing on the same sheet of music and nothing gets dropped. This is the way things should work, but seldom does. Many software products and applications can be involved, confusing and the learning curve can be straight up. TODO is so easy to work with youll have it setup and running in less time than it took for me to write the above. (I dont normally write reviews, but this app is so good I believe I should let folks know about it.) I have interacted with the folks who wrote the software and found they truly go out of their way to ensure their customers get good service out of the app. They stand behind this product. Theyre good people, this is an outstanding app and if you use it youll probably discover youll be more productive, effective and efficient than youd thought possible. Out of hundreds of apps I own this is one of the very few I cant manage without. Its been an answer to prayer, its helped me and I think its one of the very best apps out there…certainly for keeping up with details and getting them accomplished. It simply works…and works well!!

Used it for a few days and am now locked out

Unaware that I needed a paid account to use this software, I migrated my to-do list to the program. For a few days everything worked okay, but this morning, trying to access the software (and my to-do list) it’s requiring a password to even open the program. NO WAY to get my data back without paying for an account! I refuse to be held hostage by this, and will find another app to use instead.

Didn’t fix bug

You continue to have a bug with this release where if dragging a task onto a date doesn’t drop into the date you hover over. The bug is actually worse now, as it no longer highlights the date you’re going to “accidentally” drop into. Please fix this bug.

Fantastic Mac app

I use this app heavily to manage my lists. I love Todo on my iPhone, and this updated release is very helpful for me on my mac. Works great with Todo Cloud and keeps me productive!

Thanks for the update!

I love the Todo apps and want to use Todo for Mac apps more. This update makes it very useful. Keep up the good work!
